Tell us a little bit about your work history with Manitoba Hydro and MHI.

At Manitoba Hydro, I worked primarily in the business and customer service areas. I began my employment in Brandon, and then transferred to Thompson, Portage la Prairie, and Winnipeg, moving through various degrees of responsibility. The focus of my work was on service extension, energy management, and relationship management development with the large industrial customers.

Since starting at MHI, I have worked on projects here in Canada as well as in Brazil, The Bahamas, and Paraguay. In Brazil, I was the project participant with Smart Grid Canada to meet with Brazilian utilities and discuss innovations in distribution technology.

What have you gained from working for MHI?

I now have a greater understanding and appreciation for the diversity of the world. I have gained experience in dealing with new situations, and a constant changing landscape of issues and opportunities.

I have had the opportunity to use the knowledge and expertise I gained from my career at Manitoba Hydro. I also gained great experiences dealing with new situations in a fast-paced and exciting environment.

What are some of the benefits of working for MHI?

Being a retiree, MHI has allowed me to extend my working career for a number of years. It has provided me with an opportunity to give something back, and it is very rewarding to work with junior staff and to pass along the experience I learned from Manitoba Hydro.
