MHI Receives Centre of Excellence Award
MHI’s hands-free augmented reality technology, VisualSpection, was featured at the Canadian Electricity Association’s (CEA) Centre of Excellence in Ottawa on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.
“We are honoured to be recognized by the CEA for developing wearable technology that is positively impacting the utility sector in Canada and around the world,” said David Enns, Managing Director of T&D Solutions at MHI.
Since developing VisualSpection in 2014, MHI has been promoting its benefits to utilities around the world. The product allows users to efficiently perform activities, such as inspections, training, repairs, installs, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
“VisualSpection is transforming the way utilities perform asset inspections and maintenance, as it increases efficiency and safety while acting as an information aggregator in the field,” said Enns.
The CEA recognized about 20 innovators at the Centre of Excellence event hosted on Parliament Hill. According to Sergio Marchi, President and CEO of the CEA, the Centre of Excellence showcases the latest cutting-edge innovations in how electricity is produced, delivered, and consumed.
“I am delighted to congratulate MHI for its ongoing commitment to innovation excellence,” said Marchi. “VisualSpection software demonstrates MHI’s ability to think outside the box and go well beyond incremental improvements, to meet the shifting needs and expectations of tomorrow’s customers.”
