  • Mozambique — Technical and Financial Assistance Services

    In November 2007, the majority ownership and control of Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB) was transferred from Portugal to Mozambique. The Government of Mozambique took out a commercial loan to purchase the asset and appointed MHI as HCB’s Technical Services Partner.     In January 2010, MHI started a 3-year contract with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. SEC is the sole provider of electricity with an annual growth rate of about 8 to 10 per cent each year.
