Creation of Demand Side Management Plan

MHI examined the feasibility of Demand Side Management in Slovakia. MHI Prepared terms of reference for a long-range DSM plan. The terms of reference were based on exhaustive consultations with Slovak clients to identify their needs and opportunities that they wished to pursue.

Additionally, MHI jointly prepared with the client an energy conservation plan for the utilities in the Republic. The project included all phases of energy conservation planning from end use data collection; marketing trademark and program design to DSM plan integration with the power supply plan.

The training component of this project was built into the study process. The Manitoba Hydro DSM planning methodology was transferred to the clients via workshops along with the DSM planning and evaluation software. Client staff participated in data collection and analysis to determine technical and economic potential, program concept design, plan development, and plan integration with the power supply plan to determine overall economic feasibility and power supply capital and operating cost savings.
