CIDA/EPRI Technical Assistance Project - Phase II

Manitoba Hydro technical and professional staff provided training in all aspects of electric utility management and operation to their Chinese counterparts. Methodology of training included seminars in China, hosting visiting missions and on-the-job training through attachment of Chinese staff to Manitoba Hydro line departments for periods of six months to a year.

Five missions have been hosted veering a range of topics including Optimization of Structures and Foundations, Preventing Ice Damage on lines, Insulation Protection and Machine Monitoring, Vibrations of Overhead Transmission Lines, and Design of HVDC Ground Electrode.
