Restructuring of Training and Distribution Profit Centres

The purpose of this project was to assist the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) to restructure and reorganize into Transmission, Distribution and Generation Profit Centers. This involved not only the internal restructuring and separation matters but also included legislative, legal and governance issues, tariff structures, stakeholder communications and business and profit centre strategic planning.

More specifically, MHI:

• Provided training and facilitation services to KSEB task forces that would enable KSEB to develop processes for moving the organization towards a structure based on profit centers.
• Prepared and delivered courses to task forces on transforming the organization.
• Interfaced with Change Management Training Specialist re Training Approach.
• Provided initial training to KSEB staff on process mapping.
• Prepared recommendations for additional training requirements.
• Conducted Study Tours for KSEB staff for in house training at Manitoba Hydro home office and facilities.
• Enabled provision of Manitoba Hydro Executive staff for mentoring senior staff at KSEB.
• Facilitated Strategic Planning and Business Planning for KSEB senior staff in Kerala.
