Southern China Strategic Energy Planning Project – Training Component

This project included two components; the creation of State Power Corporations and a rural energy component.

Training to the State Power Corporations included the following topics:

• Air emission regulations, particularly acid-rain gas emissions
• Conducting socio economic impacts and financial analysis on power exchange
• issues related to the recent power sector restructuring
• operation of regional power exchange and evaluation of potential options for regional electricity markets
• Analysed and quantified and the identified regional trading and operating benefits and training provided for various market rules and operating models of regional trading
• energy demand analysis re: on producing energy balance tables and sectoral accounts for use in energy demand forecast
