Financial Planning Model I & II

The Egyptian Electric Authority has been broken up into a central agency and holding company for seven, newly-created regional electric companies. Various new financial management and planning functions are being created in preparation for these companies to be privatized. Sufficient ability for these companies to provide detailed financial information to potential international investors is the focus of this project. This includes the creation of a new financial planning role in each company.

Financial Model-I included the following tasks:

• Consulted with other advisors to find requirements for the financial planning model
• Designed and developed an Excel spreadsheet for a financial planning model generic enough to act as a basis for use by all regional electric companies
• Enhanced functionality and usability in linking various source worksheets into a consolidated set of financial statements
• Financial Modeling

Financial Model-II included the following tasks:

• The Corporate Financial Advisor working jointly with other consultants reporting to the EEHC developed a detailed methodology, work plan and budget to meet the draft Terms of Reference
• Excel spreadsheet design
• Visual Basic Programming
• User documentation and user training
• Consulting in role and use of tools for financial planning function
