Residual Life Extension Training

MHI provided Thermal Plant Residual Life Extension Training for 13 employees of the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority.

The technical instructor provided training on the following learning objectives:

  • Describe the major steps in residual life assessment.
  • Organize a residual life assessment study.
  • Describe and explain the basic concepts, terms, and objectives of the three phases of an assessment study.
  • Describe and Explain the Economic Determinations of which plant components are to have their residual lives assessed, assured, or extended.
  • Anticipate the defects and problems which are typically discovered during residual life assessment studies.
  • Organize the work necessary to establish, or extend plant life.
  • Organize the re-commissioning of the plant.
  • Assess maintenance practices and reorganize maintenance planning.
