CIDA/EPRI Technical Assistance Project – Training Component

Manitoba Hydro International technical and professional staff provided training in practically all aspects of electric utility management and operation to their Chinese counterparts.

Methodology of training included seminars in China as well hosting visiting missions and on-the-job attachments of Chinese staff to Manitoba Hydro line departments for periods of six months to a year.

Programs included:

• Optimization of Structures and Foundations
• Preventing Ice Damage on Lines
• Insulation Protection and Machine Monitoring
• Vibrations of Overhead Transmission Lines
• Design of HVDC Ground Electrode
