MHI, in association with RICARDO-AEA, is undertaking a technical assistance (TA) project to develop the wholesale electricity market in Vietnam. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is financing the project, and will focus most of its support on five distribution companies (known as Power Corporations) and the National Load Dispatching Center. The project will provide basic support and training to other participants including Generation Corporations, National Power Transmission Corporation, Electric Power Trading Company, other market entrants, and potential wholesalers. MHI will be responsible for hydropower scheduling and water valuation.
