MHI Signs MoU with Saudi Electric Service Polytechnic

On February 9, 2017, MHI and Saudi Electric Service Polytechnic (SESP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to pursue regional and international consulting projects together. The MoU will provide MHI with the opportunity to establish itself in the regional training market.

SESP was established in 2012, as a non-profit tertiary education institution in Saudi Arabia. The organization is a public-private partnership between the Saudi Government and the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). The organization’s objective is to establish a world-class training institution aimed at preparing Saudi students for careers in the electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution sectors.

MHI has maintained a strong business relationship with SEC for 10 years, and has collaborated with SESP on developing training materials for a new technical trades facility in Saudi Arabia. While in Saudi Arabia, Shawna Pachal (Managing Director, MHI) met with the Managing Director of SESP and signed the MoU.

“MHI is looking forward to expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia and continuing to foster its evolving partnership with SEC,” said Shawna. “Through this MoU, MHI is committed to supporting SESP’s training program by sharing over a century’s worth of utility best practice experience.”
