The Acaray Hydroelectric Power Plant is located on the Acaray River between Ciudad del Este and Hernandarias, Paraguay. The Acaray retention dam creates a reservoir that allows water to be delivered through these two penstocks to the Acaray I and Acaray II powerplant turbines located one kilometre away.

Murchison Falls National Park is just a five-minute drive from Karuma Hydroelectric Power Station where MHI staff are working for the next year. A variety of animals live in the park including elephants, giraffes, lions, and hippos.

Built along the Saskatchewan River by Manitoba Hydro between 1960 and 1968, the Grand Rapids Generating Station was the first hydroelectric generating station in Northern Manitoba. After major upgrades in 2000, the station’s capacity increased to approximately 480 MW.
